Clean Water Collection
Every time you turn on a faucet just remember how lucky we are. Access to clean water in many parts of the world means a 4 mile round trip to the nearest source of clean water. Even then the water needs boiling or you just live with the contamination. What this means is women and children in many areas spend most of their days in water collection and wood gathering. As a result they are often unable to attend school or continue their education. Water born diseases are one of the major causes of death in East Africa. What action can you take to alleviate the problems. There are 30 or 40 organizations actively working on various methods to get clean water where it is needed. You can find a partial list on that section of the www.gorillahabitat.com web site. Log on and see the opportunities to donate of your time and money to help solve this problem.
